T Cross Ranch is a spectacular and historic 160-acre guest ranch located 15 miles north of Dubois, Wyoming. Wildlife large and small, including world-class big game animals, are abundant and often visible on and around the ranch. Wildlife enthusiasts are delighted to find elk, moose, deer, bear, wolves and even the elusive mountain lion. The area is home to the largest herd of bighorn sheep in the Rockies and several thousand elk winter in the area. With its headwaters originating a few miles north of the ranch, Horse Creek bisects the property and is famous for its natural population of brook trout. Managed carefully over the years, this unique fishery is known for its abundant populations of brown, rainbow and most recently Yellowstone cutthroat trout. With over a mile of pristine water, the ranch offers excellent private fishing where 16 to 18-inch trout are common. Horse Creek offers exceptional wade fishing both on the property and in the surrounding National Forest. In addition, other tributaries of the Wind River are nearby and offer exciting trout fishing. Ranch improvements include the spacious main lodge, eight guest cabins with a capacity of 35, manager's house, office, barn, corrals, saddle house, and staff quarters. Constructed from hand-hewn logs harvested from the ranch and surrounding forest, the lodge and guest cottages are traditional log cabins built between 1918 and 1946. The authenticity and meticulous maintenance of the buildings have made T Cross the backdrop for Wells Fargo and Marlboro advertising photography shoots, as well as a favorite venue for notable western, landscape and wildlife artists. Water rights abundant for ranch operations are owned, as well as the physical infrastructure to use them effectively. Most unique is T Cross Ranch's exclusive permit to maintain a hunting camp in a remote valley nearby as a destination for horseback rides or a base for hunting parties.
